Spring Wedding: Joyful Golden Love

What a beautiful venue and Lesley was amazing to work with. She had a lot of knowledge and ideas on how things could run! I definitely recommend Events on 6th!! - Krissy

Krissy & Brian were married March 10th, 2018 on a beautiful, mostly-sunny spring day at Events on 6th in Tacoma, WA.  The couple wed on their 5-year Anniversary and during one of their favorite seasons.  “March is a beautiful time of year - early spring is one of our favorites!” said the bride.

The ceremony was at 4pm with Brian’s dad leading them through their vows and pronouncing them husband and wife.  The couple used Krissy’s family Bible that had been given to Krissy’s parents as a wedding gift.  These special touches were very meaningful to the couple and part of Brian’s favorite moment of the day.  “My favorite moment was watching Krissy walk down the aisle and knowing that this was about me, Krissy, and God, and that our family was there to witness it!” said the groom.

The happy couple met on February 3, 2013 at a Super Bowl party hosted by a mutual friend.  Krissy remembers noting Brian giving out hugs to everyone but her, so the first thing she ever said to him was, ‘where’s my hug!’ and they soon began dating.  Brian later proposed on that special meaningful date of their first meeting.  “He made me a home-cooked meal, had rose petals throughout the house, and had chocolate-covered strawberries for dessert! Little did I know...there was a ring (my mother’s wedding ring from my dad who passed 6 years ago) in the corner of the box!” said Krissy.

The couple was engaged for a year, ecstactic to find out their 5-year dating anniversary was on a Saturday.  “We knew it was a dream come true,” said Krissy, “we wanted to get married on that special day that meant a lot to the both of us.” Krissy had found Events on 6th while they were dating and kept it in the back of her mind.  “When I found it my jaw definitely dropped.  Ever since I was a little girl, I envisioned exactly what I wanted and where!”

Krissy planned and decorated herself, using navy blue, silver, and hints of blush.  “I wanted to bring our religious side out and make it well aware that we put God #1 in our relationship. Baby’s breath, family bible, white/blush roses.. everything was angelic,” she said.

The day didn’t quite go as planned, as the bridesmaids dresses were left behind in Auburn.  “I realized it about an hour before our first look!  Luckily my step-dad saved the day and drove there and back in a hurry! Luckily, it was like nothing ever happened,” said Krissy.

The party enjoyed a cocktail hour and then BBQ & Vegetarian Sliders, side salads, and Cob Corn from Jonz Catering.  The couple enjoyed their own special two-tiered chocolate cake with raspberry filling and the guests had vanilla and chocolate.

Krissy couldn’t pick one moment from the day as her favorite. “My favorite moment is probably the entire day… from our first look, walking down the aisle, our first dance and cake cutting… you could feel the love the entire day. Especially since 30 extra people decided to come last minute! We felt so loved and supported by our close family and friends!” exclaimed the happy bride.

Krissy and Brian danced their first dance to From the Ground Up by Dan & Shay and then enjoyed a long evening of dancing to 30’s- 70’s classics mixed with some country love songs and today’s hits, and ended with a fantastic exit.  “We had bubbles and tons of family and friends cheering us on! Our car was completely decorated by surprise— and of course my husband did a burn out when we drifted away!” laughed Krissy.

The happy couple honeymooned in Honolulu Hawaii.

Congratulations, Krissy & Brian!
